Are you wondering how to enable motherboard HDMI for convenience in connecting the motherboard to multiple monitors? Lucky for you, as long as your motherboard features an integrated graphics option, you can easily enable the HDMI. Sadly, not all motherboards integrated graphics.

Anyway, let’s look at how to get around all this and, of course, enable the HDMI if your motherboard is viable. But before we indulge in this, let’s have a glimpse of a few things:

Benefits of Using Motherboard HDMI

  1. If you enable the motherboard HDMI, you no longer have to use one monitor with the motherboard. You can use two or more, using an HDMI cable.
  2. If the ports on the graphics card are minimal, the enabled HDMI comes in handy.
  3. If the GPU HDMI is faulty, using the motherboard HDMI is your best option.

Step By Step Guide on How to Enable Motherboard HDMI

So your motherboard HDMI not working is stressing you out? Relax; Let’s go through this simplified guide to use the motherboard HDMI successfully finally;

1. Check if the Motherboard is HDMI Compatible

As we mentioned earlier, not all motherboards are compatible with HDMI. This is because for a motherboard to work with HDMI, it has to feature integrated graphics.

So, check your motherboard model to ensure that it has integrated graphics. How do you check the motherboard model?

In window 10, which is the most commonly used, go to Start, then click on Settings. In Settings, select Properties, and check the model of the processor. Once you have identified it, search for the model properties online.

You will see Integrated Graphics among the properties if your motherboard features one.

Note:

  • All Intel processor motherboards have integrated graphics.
  • Some AMD processor motherboards have integrated graphics. Nevertheless, motherboard HDMI AMD will always be indicated at the motherboard side with a “G”.

2. Use the BIOS to Enable the Integrated Graphics

Now that you have confirmed that your motherboard has integrated graphics, let’s get onto activating the integrated graphics.

You will save all your work to be safe as you work in the BIOS. Then, restart your computer, and in the process of rebooting, press one of the BIOS functional keys. These keys could be F1, F2, Delete, Escape, F8, and F12. Either of them will be suitable for use, depending on your motherboard model instructions.

Ensure that you press the right key because you may end up altering some features on the motherboard unwillingly at this stage.

After that, click on Advanced, where you will get an option for IGPU. Click on it, and it will take you to other choices, where you will select Multiple Display. Enable the Multiple Display option, and this will translate to enabling the HDMI. Click on the Save button, then Enter to finish the process.

Once you have saved the changes, restart the computer to integrate the changes in the system.

Once you are through, you can confirm if the HDMI is working. You will need one or two HDMI cables for this to be a success. The cables will connect the motherboard to several monitors.

Firstly, connect the motherboard to your monitor using the normal HDMI port. Usually, this is at the rear end of the video card.

Secondly, plug in a second monitor using the HDMI port that features on the motherboard.

Finally, you can update your computer to suit the task that you want with the multiple monitors.

Motherboard HDMI No Signal?

If the motherboard HDMI shows no signal, this would only mean two things:

  1. Either your motherboard has no integrated graphics, meaning that the HDMI will not work;
  2. Or your motherboard integrated graphics multiple display option is disabled, and you need to enable it.

If the second reason is your problem, you can use our clear and simple guide above to enable the integrated graphics, enabling the HDMI.

Does Using Motherboard HDMI Have Disadvantages?

Yes, it does. While using motherboard HDMI has all the attractive benefits, the reasons below will make you think twice before enabling it in the first place:

  • When using multiple monitors, you will not use your motherboard for playing games.
  • The eye finite technology, which is on an AMD, is disabled once you enable multiple displays for your motherboard.
  • Using multiple monitors compromises your Random Access Memory since it will be using a part of it.

Therefore, it is up to you to identify the advantages and disadvantages of using motherboard HDMI, then make an informed decision on what you will compromise.

Should I Plug Monitor Into GPU or Motherboard HDMI?

If you are only using one monitor, you can use the GPU HDMI, which is more efficient than the motherboard HDMI. However, you may have to use the motherboard HDMI if the GPU one is damaged. Besides, if you want to use multiple monitors, you can use both the motherboard and GPU HDMI.

However, if you have a specific motherboard, say for gaming, using the motherboard HDMI is the best alternative for a thrilling and different experience.

Can Motherboard HDMI Gigabyte Be Enabled?

Yes, it can, but only if the Gigabyte motherboard utilizes the Intel processor or AMD with a G inscription.

Do All Motherboards Have an HDMI Option?

Unfortunately, no. Some have the HDMI option, while some don’t. This largely depends on the integrated graphics, which is only available on Intel and a few AMD processor motherboards.

How to enable motherboard HDMI and graphics card? Well, if you have been looking forward to an efficient way to work with several monitors, now you have a way out.

The best part is that since the monitors use both the HDMI port on the graphics card and the one on the motherboard, your work becomes even more efficient. Neither lags nor difficulties will come from operating the monitors from your computer.

The design is phenomenal. It comes in only one color, matte black. I also love glossy black, but it is a fingerprint magnet, and it gets dirty very quickly. That’s why I love matte black for my gadgets.

It costs a little bit more than normal VRs like Samsung and Google one, but I think it is worth the money. It is big, but the comfort that you are getting is amazing. Everything is very soft to touch, and you won’t need to put them off after long gaming sessions.
